Solit Book Club
SoLit Book Club
We work to instill a love of reading, writing and community conversation. There is nothing better than sharing a story and thoughts about a book with someone else. Books bring us together.
With enlightening conversations in mind, SoLit hosts a book club once a quarter throughout the year. At each session, a different English professor from our area chooses the book and leads the discussion of a small group.

Feel free to sign up for any of the sessions. There is a limit of 15 people for each group.

Flags in the Dust by William Faulkner

Flags in the Dust details the shell shock a young WWI veteran pilot experiences after seeing his twin brother's plane get shot down on the Western Front. Originally published under the title Sartoris, the novel came out the same year, 1929, as Sound and the Fury, but is a very readable text by contrast. It's Faulkner's first Yoknapatawpha novel. Beautifully written and heartbreaking
